100-101: Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 exam
provides the associated certifications of CCENT, CCNA Routing and Switching,
CCNA Security, CCNA Service Provider Operations, CCNA Voice and CCNA Wireless.
The exam is taken in a time period of ninety minutes where the individuals have
to solve approximately forty to fifty questions that have been taken from the
given syllabus.
100-101: Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 exam helps
the students in everything related to the technology for which the candidate is
acquiring specialization and certification. The exam provides all the relevant
materials as course descriptive which are needed to be understood and trained
properly enough so that the individual is able to perform the tasks of
implementation, configuration and troubleshooting. There are many important
topics which are to be studied with respect to what is given by the vendor, the
topics present here are necessary to be learned in order to pass the exam,
these are given as: Operation of IP Data Networks in which the students have to
learn about the purpose and functions of various network devices such as
routers, switches, bridges and hubs, network
specification, flow between two
hosts across a network, cables,
ports, and connectors to connect Cisco network and devices to other network
devices and hosts in a LAN.
Twenty one percent is covered
by the topic called LAN Switching Technologies in which the 100-101: Interconnecting
Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 exam takers have to learn about the topics
which consists of technology and media access control method for Ethernet
networks, basic switching concepts and the operation of Cisco switches,
Broadcast domains and Ways to switch. The students also have to know about
initial switch configuration including remote access management, network status
and switch operation using basic utilities, VLANs create logically separate
networks and the need for routing between them, network segmentation and basic
traffic management concepts, Configure and verify VLANs, verify trunking on
Cisco switches.
Third topic that covers eleven
percent in the exam is IP addressing (IPv4/IPv6) where the candidates have to
learn about operation and necessity of using private and public IP addresses
for IPv4 addressing, IPv6 addressing scheme to satisfy addressing requirements
in a LAN/WAN environment, IPv4 addressing scheme using VLSM and summarization
to satisfy addressing requirements in a LAN/WAN environment, the technological
requirements for running IPv6 in conjunction with IPv4.
100-101: Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 exam
fourth topic is IP Routing Technologies that covers twenty six percent in the
exam where the candidates are required to learn about describing the concepts
which include basic routing concepts, Packet forwarding, Router lookup process,
Process utilizing the CLI to set basic Router configuration, operation status
of an Ethernet interface, configuration and network connectivity using, routing
configuration for a static or default route given specific routing
requirements, Differentiate methods of routing and routing protocols and
interVLAN routing.
100-101: Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 exam can
be taken in English or Japanese. The practicing for the exam is very important
in the whole process of certification.
